This Privacy Policy explains how Paranormal Field Log handles information when you use the app.

Overview

Paranormal Field Log is designed as an offline-first investigation logging app. The app does not use user accounts, advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or tracking SDKs. Investigation data you enter into the app is stored locally on your device. SpookyTech does not operate a server that receives or stores your investigation records.

Information Stored Locally

Paranormal Field Log may store the following information on your device when you choose to enter or create it:

  • Location records
  • Investigation records
  • Session records
  • Evidence logs
  • Notes and journal entries
  • Entity profiles
  • Photographs
  • Video recordings
  • Audio recordings
  • Documents or selected media files
  • Weather, equipment, premonition, and report data
  • PDF reports
  • Local backup files
  • App settings and preferences

This information is stored using local device storage, including SQLite database storage and files saved by the app.

Device Permissions

Paranormal Field Log may request the following permissions depending on the features you use.

CAMERAUsed to capture photographic or video evidence, attach images to location/entity records, and use camera-based tools.
MICROPHONEUsed to create EVP/audio recordings during investigation sessions.
LOCATIONUsed only when you choose to use the current-location feature on a location map. Saved coordinates are stored locally in the app database.
FILES AND MEDIAUsed when you choose photos, videos, documents, backup files, report files, or other media through Android file/media pickers or system share/save actions.
VIBRATIONUsed for local investigation or session alerts.

Permissions are requested only for app features that need them. You can deny permissions, but some related features may not work.

Sharing and Exporting Data

Paranormal Field Log does not automatically upload your investigation data to Spooky Tech LTD. Data may leave the app only when you choose to perform an action such as:

  • Sharing a backup file
  • Exporting or sharing a PDF report
  • Sharing photos, videos, audio, or documents
  • Saving a report or backup outside the app
  • Opening an external link

When you use Android share sheets, file pickers, cloud storage apps, email apps, messaging apps, or similar services, those services handle the data according to their own privacy policies.

Network Access and Third-Party Services

Paranormal Field Log does not use third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking services. Some optional features may use network access:

  • publicMap tiles may be loaded from OpenStreetMap tile servers when you view a map.
  • open_in_newExternal links may open in your browser.
  • text_fieldsGoogle Fonts may retrieve font files if they are not already available locally on your device.

These services may receive normal technical request information such as your IP address, device/browser details, and the requested URL. Your investigation records are not sent to these services by Paranormal Field Log.

Governance & Procedures

Data Retention and Deletion

Data entered into Paranormal Field Log remains on your device until you delete it.

You can delete individual records within the app where deletion options are available. You can also delete all app data by uninstalling the app or using device-level app storage controls.

Files that you export, share, save outside the app, or back up separately may need to be deleted from their chosen destination separately.

Children’s Privacy

Paranormal Field Log is not intended for children under 13.

Spooky Tech LTD does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security

Paranormal Field Log stores investigation data locally on your device. You are responsible for securing access to your device, backups, exported files, and shared reports.

The app disables Android cloud backup for its internal app data where supported.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Updates will be reflected by changing the “Last updated” date.

Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
